PS Learning: New Class Setup

Step 1: Create a new class from the DHA Template

1. Go to the PowerSchool Learning home portal:  https://saes.learning.powerschool.com/


2. Click on the Library link at the top navigation bar

3. Search for DHA to find the DHA Template - Multi-section Class template.


4. Click Use Resource for DHA Template - Multi-section Class.

5. Copy to a new class and click the Copy Resouce button.


Step 2: Rename your class

1. Click Manage Class on the right side of the page and choose Class Settings.
   

2. Rename your class following the SAES naming conventions

   

Core content classes:
Subject Grade Level | Lastname

Example:
LA 5 | Sutterlin
Social Studies 8 | Rucki


Extra classes (clubs, sports, NJHS, etc.):
School abbreviation | Name

Examples:
DHA | Helping Hands
DHA | Basketball
DHA | NJHS

3. Confirm that the correct school year is selected.

4. Uncheck Allow user nicknames from the tick box.  This prevents students from creating anonymous usernames.

5. Do check Don’t send notifications about updates to page content. This prevents parents and students from receiving an e-mail for every edit you make.


6. Click Save.


Step 3: Set the theme for the class

1. Click Manage Class on the right side of the page and choose Edit Theme.


2. Click School Themes in top navigation bar, select DHA and click the Apply button.
